Ding Dong Bell…

Ranya down the well…

682 words on 10 oct, 412 on 11 Oct, and 688 today.

Here’s the dilemma. Ranya is going to discover a network of tunnels beneath the fortress, that much I know. But will she discover them now, while she is inside the well, or will she discover them much later, as I had planned?

This is the trouble with novel writing. You think you’ve got it all mapped out, or at least enough so you know how far it is between points A and B, when your MC suddenly short circuits the plan with a quicker route.  I think I like this new direction better, and it’s early enough in the story that it won’t mean a whole lot of revision, but it’s still going to render a lot of the future scenes I had planned redundant.
