Creative Writing Programme:
Classes take place on four of the five days. The other day is reserved for individual workshop or critique sessions, or for personal 'time out' or writing time.
Class times are usually 10 to noon and 2 - 4pm although depending on circumstances this may be flexible.
Please note: The programme of workshops may be subject to change without notice, but I will do my best to let you know if beforehand if changes are going to happen.

Monday:
Writers get to know each other before getting down to some writing. Er, yes, you are going to be writing from the outset. Freewriting is a magical, liberating and fun way to practise the craft and this early introduction sets the scene for plenty more rapid writing.
In a light-hearted and fun, interactive way we learn how stories spring from character and how fast and easy it can be.
Tuesday:
We all know stories must have a beginning, a middle and an end. We explore how these are most effective and start to see the shape of a story.
We take a short local bus ride to Torrox Costa, walk on the beach, take a few photographs maybe, and gather together to write in the open air. (**see note below).

Wednesday:
Reserved for individual workshops so no classes are scheduled. You may book personal time with Deb to discuss your work, solve problems, get feedback, or anything else that might help your writing move forward.
Thursday:
We take an excursion, on the local bus, into Malaga. There we explore the city, the flora and fauna, write in the gardens, share a packed lunch and soak up the Spanish culture in this beautiful city. Along the way we have scheduled stops for quick writing sessions and exercises. This is writing with a difference, and you'll find it stimulates the imagination like nothing else. Lasts all day. (**see note below).

Friday:
A return to conventional classes with a delve into the mysteries of how dialogue really works and how it can make or break a story.
Changing the perspective, or point of view, opens or closes a few doors. We explore the possibilities and come to terms with the limitations.
Cost:
Whole Course - 180 Euros including lunches.
Workshops - 25 Euros with lunch or 20 Euros without lunch. (discounts available on 2 or more booked together)
Mentoring/Critique (1 hour) - 20 Euros
Included: All tuition, trips, and lunches. You are responsible for all other meals.
Excluded: Air fare, accomodation, breakfast and evening meals, airport transfer from Malaga. Airport collection can be arranged if needed at a small extra cost - see Spanish-hols.com for details. Bus fares and any entrance fees.
Please note: This course will run regardless of student numbers. Unlike some writing course organisers we don't cancel once scheduled. This means you can book your writing holiday with confidence.
**Please Also Note: Afternoons in Spain are siesta time. Our excursions out are on local transport so our travel times are restricted.
